Mandurah & the Peel Region

2018 Mandurah Crab Fest

For its 20th anniversary, Channel Seven Mandurah Crab Fest presented by LiveLighter on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March is going to be bigger than ever and promises to wow all our visitors.

The award-winning Mandurah Crab Fest is Western Australia’s biggest free regional event and showcases the best food and entertainment the Peel Region offers.

This year, the two-day festival includes over 100 hours of free entertainment, including local and international acts across four stages, celebrities, unique food experiences, waterway activations, live music, a spectacular anniversary-edition fireworks display and Mandurah’s famous Blue Manna crabs… plus a few surprises!

Have you taken your selfies yet with the big inflatable blue crab? This year as part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations, a giant inflatable Blue Manna crab is visiting key locations. Look for the iconic crab and grab your opportunity for a selfie. Don’t forget to share your photo with the hashtag #crabfest and #visitpeel

The next locations where you can see the big crab are:

  • Sunday 4th March, 9am to 1pm - Rottnest Island
  • Sunday 11th March, 11am to 1pm - Yagan Square, Perth

What to do during 2018 Mandurah Crab Fest?

A-MAZE-ing Peel

Walk through a life-sized maze and surround yourself with the Peel Region in this one-stop shop of all things local. If you're lucky, you might even snap up a prize or special offer from one of our local businesses.

LiveLighter - Move More

Discover a new activity in the LiveLighter Move More area. Join in with Tai Chi, or sample some of the sports on offer at the APES Games right on the foreshore. Whilst you are there why not 'pedal for your smoothie' or watch some of the mouthwatering health food demonstrations by the LiveLighter team.

Immerse yourself in a 2 hour cultural experience. Hosted by George Walley from Mandjoogoordap Dreaming and Marissa Verma from Bindi Bindi Dreaming learn about the region’s Aboriginal history and culture and enjoy authentic tasting dishes featuring Mandurah’s blue manna crab, as you cruise through Mandurah’s picturesque waterways. Complimentary beer, wine and soft drinks included.

Enjoy a unique seafood experience where you haul in the catch! Cruise out into the Indian Ocean on board the luxury vessel Reel Affair II and help haul up pots, before handling and learning all about crayfish from the experienced crew.

On returning to the calm waters of the estuary, feast on fresh seafood, including our famous blue manna crab, oysters, prawns, octopus, seafood skewers and your own freshly caught crayfish. This is enjoyed with side salads, dessert and a fine selection of local wines, beers and soft drinks.

Eskimo Joe and Samantha Jade will join the stellar festival line-up at the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest presented by LiveLighter.
