Foodie Escapes | Mandurah & The Peel Region

Foodie Escapes

With rich harvests on both land and sea, and a remarkable variety of dining venues, the Peel Region is a food-lover’s wonderland. And here, even the surroundings are delicious.

Delight in a gourmet tasting plate at a lush vineyard. Enjoy a casual, family meal of golden fish and chips in the sunshine. Grab an alfresco brunch at a foreshore café in Mandurah. Have a laugh with friends over a traditional pub lunch. Experience a five-star seafood dinner in an award-winning waterside restaurant. Savour grilled fish from a beach barbeque at sunset.

Mild winters, hot, dry summers and fresh sea-breezes help create the distinct character of the Peel region’s wines. You’ll find stunning whites and reds, including Shiraz, Cabernet, Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Verdelho, Merlot and fortified. There are also surprising fruit wines, and excellent locally brewed beers and ciders.

Boutique wineries, from Serpentine and Jarrahdale in the north to Waroona and Lake Clifton in the south, offer restaurants, cafés and cellar door tastings and sales. The Peel Region also offers many opportunities to catch your own fresh seafood, gather succulent produce direct from the farms and gardens, and create your own culinary inventions.

Three Rivers Brewing Company in Mandurah is a must for every beer lover. Here you can taste a range of award-winning beers made from only the finest ingredients and all conforming to the strict German beer purity law – the “Reinheitsgebot”. Three Rivers Brewing Company uses only water, malt, hops and yeast in our beers. No additives, no preservatives. The brewery is a production-only brewery so there is no onsite consumption other than for tastings. But they can sell retail direct to the public from the cellar door in bottles and mini-kegs.
