Discover one of WA's best kept secrets - Lake Navarino (Waroona Dam)
Lake Navarino is an aquatic playground and when full the surface area covers 145 hectares of which approximately 100 hectares (220 acres) of water is available for water skiing. The balance is for passive recreation such as canoeing, sailing, fishing and swimming.
It is also a great spot for fishing.
Lake Navarino holds good numbers of Rainbow Trout, as well as many smaller Redfin Perch, all of which readily take flies. Trout fishing is at its best from the start of the season, September 1st, until the water starts to warm up with the onset of summer.
The lake has also been stocked with freshwater marron and the gentle sloping shores of the lake make for very relaxing fishing.
Trout fishing season is from the 1st September each year through to 30th June.
Fishing is permitted during the various gazetted seasons and licenses are required. Information on fishing and licenses can be obtained from any Western Australian Office of Fisheries or Australia Post.
